Tea Cart Updated with Blue & White

I have had this tea cart for as long as I can remember.  It belonged to my great grandmother.  I refinished it years ago and did get new glass cut for the top of it, but other than that I didn't think there was much more I could do to it.
Occasionally I would change what I displayed on top, but almost always it housed our small amount of liquor bottles on the bottom.  Then the other day I had the brainstorm of putting some fabric underneath the glass tops.  Why hadn't I thought of that before?  Sometimes the obvious just never appears, but once I got this notion I was hot to trot.  So off to Joann Fabrics I went and I was lucky enough to find this beautiful blue and white fabric.  My entire dining room is a dark blue and white.  I pulled up the glass and traced the sizes needed.  After they were cut to size I cleaned the glass really good and replaced them on top.  I couldn't get over the difference.
The entire tea cart had a new personality.  I loved it with the wall and woodwork.  After I saw how nice it looked I took the eucalyptus I had in a vase on top and spray painted that white as well.  Totally brightened it up.  Put a wine rack I had on top and couldn't believe how just a little fabric and spray paint could make me like something I have had forever that much more again.

Here's a close-up of the new tops.
And the completed final look.  I love it!

Screened in Porch

Here is some porch furniture I inherited from my Dad.  It was in pretty bad shape, but it's base was oak, so I knew it was quality made furniture. The fabric was just a little tired.

I hated walking out in the porch area, this rug and the upolstery,  YUCK
I figured it was time to recover and get a new rug. Now, what color?

After I painted it this color, I felt like it I was on the Golden Girls Lani, it had a shimmer to it.  Which wouldn't have been so bad, but the fabric has a shimmer to it also.  So back to the Menards to save big money. And this is the color I chose below.
Much Better!
Just to ease your mind, those aren't pee marks, The furniture was so dirty, I took a scrub bursh and a hose to it. It was dripping wet when I was finished with it. Ever try to pick up a couch that has been saturated.  Couldn't budge it.  It wasn't going anywhere.
Took a whole day to dry out down in the Carolina heat.

Now I am not a blue person, but this fabric just jumped out at me, I fell in love with it.  And it looks like the rug is a keeper now. Doesn't look bad with it.  I love it when that happens.
That's Magilla Gorilla in the corner there

I was considering painting the brick wall behind the sofa, after consulting with my designer (my son) and got a definite NO! But he did suggest a mirror.  Now for me more is better.  So off to the garage to look at the stash of mirrors I got at the auctions.
He was right.                                       A wall of mirrors.                                I love it!
The only bad thing is I finished it at the end of the summer I can't enjoy until next season. It's full of all the outside furniture.                                                                                                           Thanks For Stopping By!

Office Chair

Got this metal chair at our last auction.  I kind of like it just the way it is, but we have a metal desk that will look great with it. Hopefully that will be our next piece to redo.  Ethel, dig out that map.  It has been so hot we haven't been able to work outside much.  May wanted in the pic.

Lawn Side Table

Plucked this puppy right out of the garbage.  That's right, I'm not proud.  It's an aluminum outside table.  It looked like this for about 3 years, then I hooked up with Ethel,  got smart and painted it.

I painted it with chalk board paint. So far it has held up in the outdoors.
Pride and Joy can have this one.

But I don't think they are to interested to write on it right now.
Nappy nap time.
The quilt Raegan is on, is her I spy quilt. Had fun finding all the novelty fabric for that one. Looks like all her extremities are broken. OUCH!  No like one of those crime scene chalk drawings.

Sewing Foot Stool

Nasty needle point cover.  Cat hair and stinky.   YUCK!

Chalk Board Table

                                                                       For Sale
But you might want the after

The Table is finally finished!

The glaze gives it a nice antique look and hides all the nicks that Topanga put on it.  If you look real hard at the before picture you can see her name. It's really says that!  Wasn't that Cory's girlfriend. She was a short little thing.  And those lips..... Wonder if they are still together.

Raegan asked if I was going to sell the table. Sorry baby, this one has a price tag on it. We can always make another.  I was worried that the chalk wouldn't write smooth since I used a brush, not a roller.  But it works great.  See my Pride and Joy workin it.

Our first piece of Furniture

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Quite a difference!  Donna I think this would look great next to the clock.  Found the fabric first, and knew exactly what color I wanted for the chair.  We distressed slightly and glazed to tone down the blue.  Wish you could see in person, the color and paint were a match made in heaven....
Any takers?
Let us know.
And post a
note.
